Nasa astronaut Christina Koch is helped out of the Soyuz MS-13 spacecraft after she and fellow space adventurers Alexander Skvortsov and Luca Parmitano, landed near Zhezkazgan, in Kazakhstan. Koch returned to Earth after logging 328 days in space – the longest spaceflight in history by a woman – on the International Space Station.

Robyn Peoples and Sharni Edwards became Northern Ireland’s first legally married same-sex couple. Same-sex marriage was finally extended to Northern Ireland in July 2019, as part of a commitment by Westminster in the event that devolution was not restored by 21 October 2019. It has been legal in England, Wales and Scotland since 2014.
